Project description

“I will have been a successful entrepreneur.” – This is the motto with which Perfekt Futur provides startup companies in the cultural and creative industries new opportunities in Karlsruhe. For entrepreneurs to one day look back at a successful company start, they need a creative and inspiring environment. This is exactly what the startup center in the former Schweinemarkthalle offers them.

The objective is to make it easier for entrepreneurs that are joining the self-employment world by providing them with exceptional and cost-friendly rooms as well as industry-specific support. The Perfekt Futur startup center is a central building block of the renovation of the old slaughterhouse, which has been going on since the shutdown of the slaughterhouse in 2006 and is now almost complete.

Inspiring rooms – for Perfekt Futur, this means a city developed from 68 converted sea cargo containers. Furnished with windows and doors and connected by steel stairs, they form complete work cells and open communication zones on three floors. The different sized containers provide enough space for reflective thinking in solitude or working in a group. They are unfurnished and in a neutral state, thus giving entrepreneurs the freedom to individually customize their workspace as they wish. The café with an outdoor entertainment area at the entrance is the entry point and meeting place for users and guests.

In terms of content, Perfekt Futur is managed by an interdisciplinary team made up of the K³ Kultur- und Kreativewirtschaftsbüro Karlsruhe (Karlsruhe’s Cultural and Creative Industries) and the Karlsruhe Fächer GmbH & Co. Stadtentwicklungs-KG (KFE). The KFE is responsible for the old slaughterhouse renovation project and operates with Perfekt Futur as the owner and landlord. The K³ office was founded in 2012 as a joint institution of the Cultural Office of the Cultural Affairs Bureau and the Office of Economic Development in Karlsruhe. Among other things, it offers networking events, workshops, and seminars on entrepreneurship and free consultation sessions.

The container offices are available in three different sizes, as single, double, or triple units. Anyone interested in renting can apply using the online form.
